How to Actually Pitch These Brands
A list is just a list without a plan. Pitching brands of this caliber requires a strategic approach.
1. Pick Brands That Align With Your Niche Before you get excited and email everyone, stop. The fastest way to get ignored is to pitch a brand that doesn’t match your expertise. Don't pitch Alo Yoga if your portfolio is full of fast-food reviews. Go through the list and select the 2-3 brands that are a perfect fit for the content you already create. Relevance is your key to getting noticed.
2. Research Like a Detective Become a student of the brand’s current marketing. Scroll through their TikTok and Instagram feeds for at least 30 minutes. What style of UGC are they posting? What hooks are they using? What's the tone—is it funny, aspirational, or educational? This research will inform your pitch and show them you’ve done your homework.
3. Send a Pitch That Solves a Problem Do not just send a generic email with a link to your portfolio. You need to provide immediate value. Craft a pitch that includes specific, custom ideas that fit their style and your expertise. Frame it as a solution for their upcoming marketing push.
Example script: "Hi team, I specialize in creating UGC for health and wellness brands. I've been following your recent campaigns and noticed you get great engagement with [X style] videos. With the holiday shopping season kicking off, I have two ideas for a Q4 campaign that I believe would perform really well: [Idea A] and [Idea B]. Let me know if you'd like to chat further!"

Pick just one "whale" from the list this week that aligns with your niche. Set a 30-minute timer and do nothing but research their social media. At the end of the timer, write down three distinct observations about their content strategy. You don't have to pitch them yet. The goal is to practice the research muscle.
