How to get paid + Eight new UGC jobs

πŸ“§ UGC Community #79 | November 11, 2025

There’s a dark side to the freelance world that no one likes to talk about: not getting paid.

We recently saw a heartbreaking post from a creator who is still chasing an agency for a payment from a year and a half ago. She delivered the work, the agency (and brand) went quiet, and she's been given the runaround ever since. The agency has now disappeared, and she's left with nothing.

This is a creator's absolute worst nightmare, and it is almost entirely preventable.

You must build a professional system that protects you before you ever hit "record." Today, we're covering the two non-negotiable policies that will ensure you never work for free.

LOOKING FOR UGC JOBS?

The AI Race Just Went Nuclear β€” Own the Rails.

Meta, Google, and Microsoft just reported record profits β€” and record AI infrastructure spending:

  • Meta boosted its AI budget to as much as $72 billion this year.

  • Google raised its estimate to $93 billion for 2025.

  • Microsoft is following suit, investing heavily in AI data centers and decision layers.

While Wall Street reacts, the message is clear: AI infrastructure is the next trillion-dollar frontier.

RAD Intel already builds that infrastructure β€” the AI decision layer powering marketing performance for Fortune 1000 brands. Backed by Adobe, Fidelity Ventures, and insiders from Google, Meta, and Amazon, the company has raised $50M+, grown valuation 4,900%, and doubled sales contracts in 2025 with seven-figure contracts secured.

Shares remain $0.81 until Nov 20, then the price changes.

πŸ‘‰ Invest in RAD Intel before the next share-price move.

This is a paid advertisement for RAD Intel made pursuant to Regulation A+ offering and involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. The valuation is set by the Company and there is currently no public market for the Company's Common Stock. Nasdaq ticker β€œRADI” has been reserved by RAD Intel and any potential listing is subject to future regulatory approval and market conditions. Investor references reflect factual individual or institutional participation and do not imply endorsement or sponsorship by the referenced companies. [THE DEEP DIVE] The Non-Negotiables: 2 Steps to Guarantee You Get Paid

If you are a new creator, or you work with any client you don't have a long-term, trusted relationship with, these two policies are not "optional." They are standard business practice.

1. The 50% Upfront Deposit

This is your first and most important line of defense. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before any scripting or filming begins.

  • Why it's essential:

    • It filters out scammers. A legitimate brand or agency with a real budget will not have a problem with a 50% deposit. It's a standard cost of doing business. Scammers or disorganized clients will protestβ€”and you'll be glad they're gone.

    • It proves they are serious. The deposit is a "good faith" payment that proves the client is financially committed to the project.

    • It covers your time. If the client ghosts you mid-project, the non-refundable deposit at least covers your initial time, effort, and any products you had to purchase.

  • How to phrase it in your contract:

2. The Watermark is Your Best Friend

Never, ever send the final, clean video file to a client before you have received the final payment. Your leverage is the content itself.

  • Why it's essential:

    • It makes the content unusable. A large, semi-transparent watermark (with your logo or just the word "DRAFT") across the middle of the video makes it impossible for the brand to post it or run it as an ad.

    • It's your insurance policy. The watermark is the "lock" on your product. You only hand over the "key" (the clean file) after the final payment has cleared.

    • It's a professional workflow. This is not rude; it's how creative agencies have worked for decades. The client approves the watermarked "draft," they pay the final invoice, and you release the final assets.

This workflow protects you at both ends: The deposit ensures you're paid to start, and the watermark ensures you're paid to finish.

[PRO TIP OF THE WEEK]

Your contract is your legal protection. Even a simple, one-page agreement is better than nothing. It should clearly state:

  1. Deliverables: "One (1) 30-second UGC video."

  2. Payment Terms: "Total fee of $X, with 50% ($X) due upfront and 50% ($X) due on final approval, before file release."

  3. Timeline: "Final payment is due within 7 days of final approval."

If a client ghosts, this document is what gives you the power to take further action.
